Happy May, everybody!
This month has been a challenging one for me. As you’ve noticed, I’ve missed a few events. Both my wife and I are taking advantage of our new healthcare and taking care of a lot of the longstanding things we never could afford. Like rehabbing my right shoulder that has been dislocated twice, and the hip flexor that I partially tore in 2019. Finally, going to physical therapy has also encouraged me to go back to the gym and strengthen the joints we are working on. Both my wife and I have been seeing quite a few doctors lately, which has made my schedule rather tentative at best. It should normalize soon, and I’ll be back on a regular schedule.
With summer coming up, we can expect a bit of a dip in activity as we normally do, but for those of us who are gaming, we’ll have quite a few fun things to play. We have Steam NextFest (June 15) coming and the Summer Game Fest (June 5th) right on the horizon.
Meet Rabby the Tabby, Feral #33
To add more festivities to my festive life, we rescued feral cat #33, which we have dubbed Rabby. This one is almost certainly an abandoned cat that was dumped in our nearby forest. He doesn’t strike, he’s litter box trained, and he loves affection. We heard him meow for the first time a day in.
He had an abscess on his face where it looked like he had been scratched in a fight. He had several scars and cuts on him from outdoor life. We took him in and got him neutered and vaccinated as well as cleaned up with a full round of antibiotics. We’re helping him recover now and hope to place him in a home soon.
If anyone is local and would like an indoor-only cat who is loving and affectionate, let me know. We will likely have him placed in a home by the end of May. He’s already home-ready and progressed through our feral-to-friendly program in days, not weeks. He’s ready for love.
Pacific Northwest Summer Meetup 2026
Join Gaiscioch at the Canterbury Renaissance Faire in Silverton, Oregon, on July 26th for the 2026 Gaiscioch Pacific Northwest Meetup. We will meet up at the food court at 1 PM.
The Canterbury Renaissance Faire is an invitation to participate in an imaginative interactive environment modeled on elements from a plausible Summer Market Faire from the era of “Good Queen Bess” (Elizabeth I, 1558-1603). We see it create an interactive stage where faire goers can experience the sights and sounds, science, entertainments, crafts, and lifestyles of Elizabethan Village Folk, celebrating the best of their village life.

April 2026 Gaiscioch.com Updates
Over the past month, I’ve been optimizing a few more Gaiscioch.com scripts and have removed the requirements for Leadership and Fellowship for progression, moving our system to a more flat-line progression system.
I’ve also built a 100-level system for community progression that will unlock new titles for you and provide you with your role in the community.
The Roles will be assigned as follows:
Level 1: New Member
Level 10: Member
Level 20: Veteran Member
Level 30: Guardian
Level 40: Warlord
Level 50: Legend
Each level you game has a unique Celtic theme title. Level 100 is set to 2.5 million exp (Honor points), which is a bar that is far too high for me on purpose. There is no change in role after level 50, just more titles. Level 50 is set to 150,000, which is where the Laoch rank currently lives.
What happens to Fellowship / Leadership and Artisan, Scholar, Discovery, and Social points?
These will become a chart that shows you where your point distribution comes from. All of these will build your XP points, and you can use any of those old systems to earn points towards your levels.
How will the new pathways work?
I’m setting up the new system to group adventures and activities into specific pathways or Houses. Each will have a primary House associated with it. For example:
Guild Wars 2 = Mysticism
Conqueror’s Blade = Warfare
Guild Wars 2 WvW = Warfare
Dune Awakening = Discovery
Enshrouded = Artisanship
Delta Force = Shadows
Games will be assigned a primary House. Then activity types can also be assigned a House, so PvP siege events can be attributed to Warfare, while other activities in-game are assigned to Mysticism.
The Houses:
House of Mysticism - Fantasy & Medieval
House of Warfare - Siege Warfare
House of Artisanship - Survival & Crafting
House of Discovery - Sci-Fi and Exploration
House of Shadows - Tactical & Strategy
Each of these houses will have 20 titles that can be earned by progressing through the ranks of each house.
Devotion Ranks
We will be showing the length of time you’ve been an active member of the community by upgrading your avatar frame. Launching with the new avatar system, these avatar frames will unlock as you continue to log in to Gaiscioch.com. Devotion is based on the number of days you’ve logged into Gaiscioch.com. Your timer continues to run as long as you log in once per week. If you go AFK for an extended period of time, your timer will stop and continue when you return.

Tying it all together
There will be a new Titles section on your profile where you can choose which title you’d like to display below your name, similar to how you can in most MMOs. You can choose from the various titles you’ve unlocked. All in all, I am working to turn Gaiscioch into a Meta-MMORPG where you can level up by playing MMORPG & Cooperative games together. I even hope to create some fun web-based games to play eventually to help share the history of Gaiscioch and share the real mythology behind it.
